Travel Theme : Liquid

South Pacific Ocean

I thought it rather appropriate to use a photo of our great Pacific ocean for this weeks challenge from Ailsa of “Where’s my backpack“. The theme is liquid.

Australia is an island, a very big one, and part of our national anthem says “we are girt by sea”….( I’ve always thought that word “girt” to be very strange)

AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM

Australians all let us rejoice,

For we are young and free;

We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;

Our home is girt by sea;

Our land abounds in nature’s gifts

Of beauty rich and rare;

In history’s page, let every stage

Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,

Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross

We’ll toil with hearts and hands;

To make this Commonwealth of ours

Renowned of all the lands;

For those who’ve come across the seas

We’ve boundless plains to share;

With courage let us all combine

To Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,

Advance Australia

Ducks in the early morning and their reflections

I took this photo this morning with this theme in mind. I rather like the ducks reflections…

Ripples on the Calliope River

This photo was also taken this morning and I love the sunlight reflecting in the ripples giving them a very liquid look…
