Through is a word that dominates our existence. We pass through the stages of our lives from being born to getting old. When ever we go anywhere we pass through the landscape to arrive at our destination. We look through windows, walk through doors, maybe even pass through a looking-glass with Alice to visit Wonderland. Hopefully we even survive through challenging times.
There are so many interpretations for this challenge that Ailsa has given us this week. Go through to her post by clicking HERE to see hundreds of others.
Here are a few of my favourites…
One of the most spectacular examples of through is how water can wear its way through rock.
Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park is a most unusual geological feature created over millions of years by water tumbling through the roof of a basalt cave.
You can see the waterfall disappearing into the rock. Then you walk down into the cave to see the water flowing through from the ceiling of the cave and creating a deep lake.
This waterfall is only a short drive into the hinterland behind where we live and I love taking visitors to see this natural wonder, especially when it has been a rainy season.
Great interpretation of the theme, Pommepal, and I love your exhaustive thinking through(!)… I’m probably just going to be posting a few ‘looking through’ shots (fabulously lazy of me) 🙂
Thanks suej, I look forward to seeing your “thoughts” I know they will not be boring you have an artists photographic eye.
On this occasion, there will be less thought, but hopefully a bit of artistry!
What a great environment you ‘re in, and so many enchanting pictures you took there…
Thank you, that part of Australia is beautiful, a photographers dream area.
Your interpretation of this theme is lovely.
I am fascinated and delighted by the caves waterfall. How special is that?!!
G’day Madoqua, I last visited them just after the 2010 floods and they were spectacular. I must get back there again soon.
I loved our visit to Natural Bridge … it is wonderful to see up close … to walk around and marvel at nature!
Springbrook is a lovely place and so close to the Goldcoast, “the green behind the gold” in marketing speak…
Great interpretation of the word through and some lovely pictures to go with these definitions. The waterfall pictures stand out especially the first one with the water falling down into the black chasm.
Thanks Chris I enjoyed this challenge, Ailsa has an interesting theme each week.
Oh my goodness, that waterfall is beautiful!
It is very spectacular Dawn, especially after heavy rain
