Weekly Photo Challenge : Reflections

Sacred cows reflected in still waters in India

Sacred cows reflected in still waters in India

India was an unforgettable experience and this photo always brings back the memory of biking along a dusty road and suddenly seeing these perfect reflections. I stopped and watched then took this photo.

Southern Alps New Zealand

Southern Alps New Zealand

It was early Autumn 2012 and we were going to Milford Sounds. The first snow of winter had fallen that night and it was a cold, misty morning and the cloud covered the mountains. The coach stopped to let us out and walk along a the banks of a small stream, “this is where you will see the mountains” the guide said.

We gazed up seeing only cloud.

Then, suddenly the cloud parted and  the snow-covered tip of the mountain revealed itself reflected in the stream. A magical moment.

The Southern Alps of New Zealand are heart stopping when they are reflected in the clear blue of Lake Hayes. A moment captured and remembered forever.
