Photography 101 : Day 5, Solitude

Tiaro River

Tiaro River

To be parked on the banks of a river when that golden hour approaches and all is still. Then watch the sun go down behind the trees as they are reflected in the calm waters, is a precious moment in time.

Next morning the solitude of the moment wraps around me. The sweet sound of the dawn chorus suddenly broken by the hoarse cackle of that unique bird, the Kookaburra. The sun glints through the morning mist and I am grateful to be travelling in this beautiful country.

To be on my own in a beautiful part of the Australian bush, next to a river, makes my heart sing.
