Weekly Photo Challenge : Reward

The winner

The reward
In the dusty, red outback of Australia camel racing is a unique and exciting part of the culture. We were in Winton the day of the races, click here to come back with me and share that day.
This young woman certainly deserved her reward. (this weeks word from Krista at WP)

I do love this one! 🙂
janet
It was an exciting day out.
Brilliant! Best one I have seen for this (difficult) challenge!
I was having a job thinking of some thing for this challenge so went looking through my photos and this one “jumped” out at me Jude. Thank you for your kind comment.
I’m struggling with this one too.
Waiting for a light bulb moment???
OMG, I thought riding a camel was challenging for me and yet she can do the race. Congratulations!
Yes I’ve ridden a camel but mine at least had a rope through it’s nose to control it. Notice she has no reins???
Oh yes! May I use this photo in the future credit to you?
That is an honour if you want to use my photo and I thank you for asking permission. I would appreciate a link back to my blog. Did you see the other post on the camel races. https://memoriesaremadeofthisblog.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/a-word-a-week-challenge-figure/
Thank you so much! I just love the photographic action on this race. Too scary sitting at the end of it’s hump.
Excellent! That’s one kind of race I’d love to see.
It certainly is exciting Bob
LOL, who knew?!?!? Love the way they painted the numbers right on the camels!!! Excellent choice for the challenge!!
Did you notice they don’t have any reins? No control at all….
No! That’s amazing. Really enjoyed this one Pomme. The feeling of fun came shining through.
It certainly was a fun day Tina
The action shot looks fantastic.
I was so lucky to get that shot with all 4 feet off the ground, pure fluke…
That is a fantastic photo! Wow, you captured the emotions and the movement of the camel so well!
It was a fantastic day Lisa. I was amazed at how brave those camel jockeys were. They had no control just had to hang on and hope for the best.
Great days activities, we used to live in Norseman and often went into Coolgardie to see the camel races. While traveling up north I took a photo of two camels towing a vehicle on the road. Something different thats for sure.
It certainly is a different lifestyle up north. I loved it.
This is certainly on my bucket list, go see a camel race. They are such incredible animals! I would also love to go see the boat races in Alice Springs!
Ha yes, did you know they had to cancel the boat races this year because they had water in the river!!!! It has been a very wet summer over most of Australia this year
Oh I have just been over to your blog and see you are living in Australia. What part are you in? Did you get those storms just recently?
Haha that is funny, that they had to cancel boat races due to water in the river – and so typically Australian 🙂 I’m in Victoria. In my particular neck of the woods we get continuous unpredictable weather (4 seasons in a day style). Keeps you on your toes I suppose!!
Yes we get a lot of the Victorians come up here to Queensland for the winter months.
It sometimes is hard to distinguish between summer and winter down here in “Mexico”…
