The art effects had already been done to this bench without any help from me. I found this in “The Giants House and Garden” in Akaroa a small historic French and British settlement nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano in the South Island of New Zealand.
Romantic secluded and quiet, but only a few minutes walk from the centre of Akaroa. Very Unique! Playful, zany, exuberant, astounding, colourful, surprising, seriously playful, unique in the world….it will make you smile. I have a grin on my face just remembering my visit. Take a look here.

All you creative types may like to join Jude in her quest for benches. This month the challenge is to show a bench with “art effects”.
So whimsical and the houses are lovely too!
Thanks Cindy, whimsical is a very good word to describe this special place.
Your photos grab me with their excellence every time, and so does your supply of variety. You must have a whizz-bang photo filing system too. What a pleasure to revisit Akaroa.
Thank you Meg. Travel photos are ok as they are all in date order. But looking for a certain theme can take time, but it is good to revisit all the places via the photos.
Looks like a wonderfully fun place!
It certainly was Dawn
I love it, tree benches are so cool I wonder why there aren’t more of them.
I agree a tree is good to lean back against
We loved Akaroa when we went to NZ Pauline – I loved all the French names and we had a lovely lunch at the hotel on the main street. Didn’t visit the “Giants House and Garden” though! Beautiful photos you’ve taken there 🙂
It was a lovely little village. You will have to go back again to see the Giants garden…
Yes I’d love to go back there NZ is on the list for possible future travel destinations 😃
It is certainly a must see place so much to see and easy to get around.
Wonderful!
Thank you…
What a beautiful place this is. And yes – it’s seriously playful! 🙂
